Oldest Bingo Caller in Britain is the Real Deal

Bert Sale, a pensioner and probably the oldest bingo caller in the United Kingdom cannot be accused of being complacent and taking things to easy as he gots older.

83 years old Bert Sale, is still the bingo caller for the nursing home located in Coventry even though he is older than most of the residents living in the place.

The lovable grandfather is known as "Bingo Bert" at the Allesley Hall Nursing Home situated on Allesley Hall Drive, Coventry where he drives every week from his home in Broad Lane just to do his duty of being the bingo caller for the grandmotherr and grandfathers living in the nursing home.

He certainly knows what he is doing as he knows all the lines from "legs 11" to "all the sixes" 66 and he is certainly well liked enough in the Allesley Nursing Home where he has been calling the bingo games for almost four years now.

When asked why he is doing this, he just said that he genuinely loves coming to the retirement home and he feels that he is making a good contribution even with his advanced age. He loves being a bingo caller and he never once thought of himself as a lot older than the other residents in the retirement home.

Two of the nursing homes oldest residents and bestfriends, Ann Shaw and Trudie Bloor, said that a game of bingo with Bert as the caller is one of the best days in the week. They always look forward to the knock on their doors saying that the bingo game will already starting soon.

The lovable grandfather is a Freeman of Coventry who served as an engineering apprenticeship at the Modern Machine tools and went to Frederick Bird Primary located in Swan Lane, Hillfields.

The nursing home's volunteers coordinator, Frances Wilmot, says that Bert does a wonderful job and also plays chess with the other residents of the nursing home.
